Quick P90X Review

We’ve been watching the P90X DVD for a couple of weeks and it’s been fantastic so far. The P90X workouts (even on the “lean” program) are intense, difficult and include very creative exercises. However, I’ve got a couple of suggestions for anyone looking to get the best P90X results:

If you’re thinking about P90X:

  1. It’s not easy trying to exercise for 6 days straight (the 7th day is a stretch / rest day). Your body is going to complain a lot in the beginning. Sore muscles galore. Be ready…
  2. This is not a routine for beginners. If this is your first attempt at working out on a regular basis, get ready for pain. The program is not easy – even for people in “good shape.”

If you’re committed to using P90X:

  1. You MUST take pictures before you start day 1. Just looking at the photos will give you some motivation to keep going.
  2. Stretch before you start the videos! Each video has about 5 minutes of warm up, but it’s not stretching. Take at least 10 minutes before each video to stretch your entire body. This will help cut down on sore muscles.
  3. Clear some space. You’ll need a completely open area near the TV. And a room with carpet is better than wood for soft landings & rolling around on the floor.
  4. The videos try to sell nutritional supplements like recovery drinks, protein and energy bars. These items are completely unnecessary.

You can order P90X from Amazon.com or BeachBody.com.

NOTE: I purchased my copy of P90X from a guy on CraigsList.org for only $80. Regular price is $120.

P.S. That picture is NOT me. I got it here.
