Forget what you’ve heard about the new 3G, SDK, AppStore extravaganza set to explode in June.
The real party could begin in 2010 (give or take a couple years) when Apple announces an out-of-this-world, Flip iPhone – the coolest phone on the planet, since… the “regular” iPhone.
According to the June issue of Mac Life Magazine, Apple has already been granted a patent for the Flip iPhone.
The coolest… I mean, groundbreaking feature of the flip iPhone is the flip panel itself – A transparent touch pad that can be used even when the flip is closed.
In addition to a few gorgeous renderings of the imaginary flip iPhone, Mac Life describes the information in the patent as “…several methods for making it easy to enter a phone number, including etching polarized numbers on the surface that are visible from an angle, software that lets you draw numbers with your finger, and even embedding tiny LEDs throughout the surface to illuminate the numbers.”
But there’s more…
The flip iPhone will be one full inch shorter than the current version so you can cram it in any pocket. Just don’t lose the damn thing.
